Gulliver travel chapter 5 solutions part 1

Gulliver's travel chapter 5 solutions!
Q1. The detailed description of the Empire of Blefuscu, their fleet of about fifty men of war ---How Gulliver goes to great lengths to study the channel its depth etc? Give us a vivid picture of what is happening. Do you agree? If yes , then substantiate this statement with four examples taken from the chapter.
Answer: The empire of Blefuscu is an island situated to North - east of Lilliput, from which it is parted only by a channel of eight hundred yards wide. The Blefuscu army fleet consists of about fifty men of war, and a great number of transports.
After viewing the enemy fleet, Gulliver orders for a great quantity of the strongest cable and bars of iron. The cable was about as thick as packthread and the bars of the length and size of a knitting - needle. Gulliver trebled the cable to make it stronger, and for the same reason he twisted three of the iron bars together, bending the extremities into a hook. Having thus fixed fifty hooks to as many cables, he went to the north - east coast, and putting off his coat, shoes, and stockings, walked into the sea, in his leathern jerking, about half and hour before high water. He waded with what haste he could , and swam in the middle about thirty yards, till he felt ground. The enemy was so frightened when they saw him, that they leaped out of their ships, and swam to shore. And it was what, happening there. I am agree with these all things.
Q2. How two warring nations are brought close and made to sign a treaty of peace----how war and bloodshed is averted by these who have power is a message to any powerful nation to do likewise in same conditions. What is your opinion ? Elaborate.
Answer: When Gulliver brought some of the enemy's ships then his majesty desired he would take some other opportunity of bringing all the rest of his enemy's ships into his ports. And so unmeasurable is the ambition of princess, that he seemed to think  of nothing less than reducing the whole empire of Blefuscu into a province, and governing it by a viceroy; of destroying the big- endians exiles, and compelling that people to break the smaller end of their eggs, by which he would remain the sole monarch of the whole world. But Gulliver endeavoured to divert him from this design, by many arguments drawn from the topics of policy as well as justice; and he plainly protested, that he would never be an instrument of bringing a free and brave people into slavery. And when the matter was debated in the council, the wisest part of the ministry were of Gulliver's opinion.
After three weeks of the exploits, there arrived a solemn embassy from Blefuscu, with humble offers of a peace which was later signed by both empire. By this way Gulliver brought two warring nations together.
Indeed its a message to modern countries of today's that the conflicts among them can be resolved by debating matter among them in place of wars. War cannot lead to any good results.
Q3. How did Gulliver help the king of Lilliput?
Answer: Gulliver helped the king of Lilliput by bringing the two warring nations together. As we know that there was a conflict between the two countries over the matter of breaking the eggs. Gulliver, not only  retarded the possibility of war but also made them sign a treaty of peace.
Q4. How does Gulliver capture the fleet of the enemy for the Lilliputians?
Answer: He wades and then swims across to the channel, where the enemy's fleet was  anchored in the shallows near the island of Blefuscu.
The Blefuscudians shoot arrows at Gulliver's face and neck, but he puts on a pair of glasses to protect his eyes and keeps going about his business.
Gulliver attaches each of his hooks to one of Blefuscu's ships, cuts the cables anchoring the ships in Blefuscu's harbor, and uses his hooks and bits of rope to tow the entire fleet across the channel.
Q5. How did Gulliver help the Lilliputians in the war with Blefuscu?
Answer: The Lilliputians were worried about the invasion of Blefuscudians. Gulliver helped them by bringing the two countries close.
One night there was a fire in the empress palace, upon knowing this, Gulliver hurried to the palace put off the fire by urinating on it. (Draw some ideas by your own too).
